Introducing… “Ms. Janelle” by Style Sew Me

Hey My Sewing Family,

Look a here, look a here! Read all about how I met Ms. Janelle!

This will be the skirt for you if you want to get your sexy back or on! When I first laid eyes on her I knew I wanted her; by any means necessary. My fingers immediately started to type www.stylesewme.com.  I wanted to know what the ordering requirements were. To my surprise, I saw an option for ordering a paper copy. I’m glad I didn’t wait to order because the last time I checked the paper copy is sold out however, I believe you can order the PDF for immediate download for you to print out on your own. I try and support the sewing community whenever I can.

Before I get into writing about this awesome pattern let me say I really missed you all. Sometimes life gets in the way and we have to come to a screeching halt in order for us to gather our thoughts and emotions to try and press forward. Today I’m at a better place so let’s get into this blog post!

When Eryn from Style Sew Me released this pattern I had to have it and once I received it, I’m so glad I didn’t procrastinate. It came with a personal “Thank You” note and the printed instruction booklet and pattern was the best I’d seen thus far.

What Dee’s Wearing

The Janelle Skirt by Style Sew Me

Pattern Description: Janelle is not for the faint at heart! She’s a sexy and dramatic spin to the classic skirt silhouette. She’s the skirt you want to pull out of the closet when you’re ready to turn heads!

The Janelle skirt is a woven, below-the-knee skirt with a faux wrap look accentuated by a dramatic-mid-thigh opening. The design of the skirt allows you to customize the height of your opening to your taste.

The Janelle skirt is designed with a full waistband and zipper opening at the center back, but would also look beautiful as a dress when combined with your favorite bodice.

The pattern description came from Style Sew Me website.

This design is available in XS-XXL in one pattern and I cut the XL because I used this stretch very thin textured fabric. It almost put me in the mind of corduroy. Please note that if you’re a shorty like me I had to cut 3 inches off the bottom, along with a 2 inch hem. I also did a higher waistband by adding 2” to the height of it. This pattern is only four pieces along with the waistband, how wonderful! I love the simplicity of this pattern and how quickly it came together.

I envision me in another but I will move the zipper from the back to the side, I personally like the zipper on the side for easier access. This definitely would be great for a beginner if you’re comfortable with installing zippers. What’s not to love about a great pencil skirt for the summer and this one definitely fit the bill. With the sexy long split, it can be overly revealing or sew the split down to your liking to give you just enough class/sass!

    • Eryn,

It was my pleasure and I really enjoyed the simplicity of how it came together.
I’m looking through my stash to see what fabric I’m going to use for the next one.

My cyber friends, if you have not purchased this pattern, it truly is “I got have it” type of pattern.
What can you ask for; 4 pieces and the waistband!

      That’s it, That’s all folks!
      Dee
